The proceeds from the Great Baddow Charity Races are used to support local charities working for local people.   Some of the Charities may be nationally known, but we ALWAYS support the local branch.

Each year all entrants, in both races, are given sponsorship forms and encouraged to raise money for our nominated Charities, but they may if they wish, raise money for their own favourite charity, project, or club.   We estimate that almost £440,000 has been raised and distributed to charities in this way over the last 20 or so years.

In the last 10 years the following local Charities are among those that have been supported directly by the Races.

Age Concern, Chelmsford;  Alzheimer's Society;  CHARMS;  Chelmsford Home Start; Chelmsford Women's Refuge;  Chelmsford Samaritans;  Chelmsford YMCA; CHESS; Epilepsy Action;  Essex Air Ambulance;  Essex Chronicle Charities; Families in Focus (Essex);  Farleigh Hospice;  Guide Dogs;  Hearing Help, Chelmsford;  Helen Rollason HEAL Cancer Care Centre;  Hospital Radio;  J's Hospice;  Kids Inspire;  League of Friends of Hargrave House;  Little Haven Children's Hospice;  Motor Neurone Disease Association;  Neo Natal Unit, St Johns Hospital;  ProAct;  Rotary Mildmay Charity Trust Fund;  Search Dogs Essex;  St John Ambulance

plus smaller donations to the voluntary organisations such as Baddow Scouts;  Chelmsford Sea Cadets;  Chelmsford Army Cadet Corps;  League of Friends of St Cedds School;  League of Friends of Hargrave House;  St John;  Writtle Scouts;  and many, many others, who have all helped us in various ways, with support services over the years.
